what's Google doing with energie??

That's the question many people ask at this time (Time is a unit of measure:) now. Despite the battle raging between Google (This article or section should be recycled. Its quality should be significantly improved by reorganizing and on ...) and Facebook (Facebook is a networking Web site (social network) for the starting to gather students and students ...) on the front of the control (The word control can have several meanings. It can be used as a synonym for review, audit and control.) Internet (Internet is global computer network that gives public access to services such as email ...), it does not go a week without that we hear the name of the famous company in Mountain View partner in an initiative or an investment in the clean technologies and intelligent network. This is understandable when the subject is that of data centers is the trades of the company. But other issues may surprise by their total lack of business model partner.

When the news broke that Google had created a subsidiary called "Google Energy", which sought to buy and sell electricity on wholesale markets, the Internet players and Energy (in the sense Common Energy is anything that can perform a job, making the heat, ...) were taken by surprise. If Google is allowed to buy and sell power, would do exactly the engine (an engine is a device that transforms a non-mechanical energy (wind, chemical, electrical, thermal ...) Research (Scientific research means First of all actions taken to produce and ...)? The question did not arise as long as the authorization to do so quickly it was issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
So Google wants to help save the planet or is it simply a strategy (Strategy - the Greek stratos, meaning "army" and agein which means "drive" -...) diversification?
Data centers, large energy consumers

The answer is quite simple according to Bill Weihl: First Google spends a lot of energy through its data centers, and office buildings that house its 22,000 employees worldwide (The word can describe the world:) wide. It is therefore to provide flexibility for Google to buy renewable energy (a renewable energy source is being renewed fast enough to be considered ...) for its facilities. Google contracts with energy suppliers over several years but wants to keep the opportunity to engage with suppliers of renewable energy such as a developer (In computing, a developer (or programmer) is a computer that performs the software by creating algorithms ...) Park (A park is a natural ground enclosures, [1] made of wood or prairie, which were drawn aisles and ...) that would move wind near any of its data centers. So Google wants to change its supply and sell electricity from the initial contract so as not to lose money. This strategy is even more understandable that Facebook has been the target of much criticism from Greenpeace about energy supply in its data centers in Oregon or the energy comes from highly polluting power plants. From this point of view Google has won the battle of the image.

Data centers energy efficient
Moreover, the work of Google for its data centers do not stop to energy supply. Google claims to have halved the energy consumption of its centers and reaching a Power Usage (use the action is to use something.) Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2 which is a measure the efficiency with which a data center uses its energy, more specifically, the share of energy actually used by the hardware (computing means the automated processing of information by a system, concrete ( machine) or abstract ....) (unlike the cooling and other overheads). The EEP is equal to the total amount (Total is the quality of what is complete, without exception. From an accounting perspective, the total is ...) of electricity used divided by the power (The word power is used in several areas with special meaning:) granted to computer equipment. The aim is obviously to achieve UPE closest to 1.

Here's how to reduce that number, according Weihl:
1. Compartmentalize hot and cold - Google confines the heat in the aisles between the servers.

2. Increase heat - Google maintains a high temperature to 26 degrees, keeping an eye on hot spots around the temperature measurement.

3. Minimize air conditioning use in cooling towers, fresh air etc ...
